karışık işler/imbroglio

The exhibition area is a space which is primarily used as an artists studio. Almost all of the works shown are original works emerged not in a relation to this venue. There exists neither curator nor gallery owner in the project, but only an invitee. The works are not for sale. Therefore, art is primarily exhibited for itself. The content and the title of the show evolved almost spontaneously in the process of the preparing. In my opinion, it is especially remarkable that artists from different disciplines approach to other artworks with a extraordinary sensitivity and ensure integrity in such a small environment.

The joint installation realized by five artists can be read as questioning the phenomenon contemporary art in the terms of the constantly changing realities of the world. 

This group work, which we carried out spontaneously deserves the title of "miscellaneous works" with its harmonious "mismatch" indeed. While preserving their own originality, the artists transform the space into an installation pretending 'as if it came out of one hand'.

While the title of the show on one hand means 'difference' in Turkish, it is also an expression of an impasse. The term imbroglio came from Italian to English to mean an unexpected, confused, troubled and problematic situation. In its native language, it means deception, confusion.

In music science, imbroglio is used to mean that different rhythms and different tempos take place in the same piece of music, come face to face.

Hacer Albayrak produces moulds of living and working spaces as fragments, recombining them in a new context to create original forms/volumes.

Coşkun Demirok updates remained objects of the past in pieces which he calls relics and puts them in new relationships to each other.

Sevil Duman creates model-like sculptures based on real places and transforms them into original and self-existing constructions.

Engin Esen deals with oppression, monophony, discriminatory discourse, disinformation, social tension and focuses on a production that takes audio/visual notes from the image and image stacks produced by polarization.

Ayça Güneş places her own body at the focal point of her art. It separates the organs independently from each other from the integrity of the body and puts them into a new context with each other.

Sergileme alanı atölye işlevi gören bir mekan. Sergilenen işlerin neredeyse tümü bu mekan dışında oluşturulmuş özgün yapıtlar. Projede bir küratör ya da galerici degil, yalnızca bir davet eden var. Gösteri satış amacı gütmüyor. Dolayısıyla sanat öncelikle kendi için sergileniyor. İçerik ve başlık süreç içinde neredeyse kendiliğinden gelişti. Farklı disiplinlerden gelen sanatçıların bu denli küçük bir ortamda diğer işlere özel bir duyarlılıkla yaklaşmaları ve bütünlüğü sağlamaları dikkate değer kanımca.
Beş sanatçının gerçekleştirdiği ortak yerleştirme, yerkürenin aralıksız değişen gerçekleri karşısında güncel sanat olgusunun da hep yeniden sorgulanmasını beraberinde getiriyor tabi ki. Gösteri bu bağlamda okunmalı.
Spontan bir biçimde uyguladığımız bu gurup calışması, uyumlu „uyumsuzluğu“ ile „karışık işler“ başlığını hak ediyor. Sanatçılar bir yandan özgünlüklerini korurken, diğer yandan mekanı „tek elden çıkmışçasına“ bir yerleştirmeye dönüştürüyorlar. 
Bu başlık Türkçe'de farklılık anlamını taşırken, bir içinden çıkılmazlığın da ifadesi. Imbroglio terimi İtalyanca'dan Ingilizce'ye beklenmedik, karışık, sıkıntılı ve sorunlu bir durum anlamında geçmiş. Anadilinde ise aldatmaca, yanıltmaca anlamını taşıyor.
